Huyser and Petty Sign AFL Deals

The Green Bay Blizzard has announced that two more players from their 2006 championship team have signed with an AFL franchise. The signings of Brett Huyser and Jermaine Petty raises the number of Blizzard players that have advanced to the AFL to 7.

OL/DL Brett Huyser (6-4, 310 Air Force) an Arena Football rookie in 2006 has signed to play with the Colorado Crush of the AFL. Colorado, AFL Champions in 2005, is owned in part by former Broncos star quarterback John Elway. Huyser was selected to the All-af2 Second Team in 2006. Brett was part of one of the strongest lines in the af2. Huyser and his line-mates allowed the third fewest sacks in the league (11). He was also a valuable defensive star adding 11.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 2006.

Also moving up to the AFL is LB Jermaine Petty (6-2 250 Arkansas). Petty played in 7 games with the Blizzard in 2006 before being traded to the Quad City Steamwheelers. Petty had 16.5 tackles and 2 sacks during his time in Green Bay. Jermaine signed with the Columbus Destroyers of the AFL's East Division.
