
Hutchins Assigned By Grand Rapids

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey announced today left wing Jeff Hutchins has been assigned by the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
Hutchins, 26, returns to Mississippi after attending Grand Rapids training camp. The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins re-signed with the Sea Wolves on August 23. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Hutchins appeared in 48 games with Mississippi in 2003-04, tying the team lead with 11 power-play goals, netting 26 goals, 45 points, compiled a plus/minus of +15 and had 112 penalty minutes. He was runner up for InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for October 20-26, 2003. Hutchins also played two games with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League in December, where he picked up two penalty minutes. He received his second AHL call-up on February 18 with the Rochester Americans and signed a standard players contract on March 3. Hutchins remained with Rochester through the Calder Cup Playoffs, appearing in a total of 25 games with the Americans, tallying one goal, five points and 74 penalty minutes.
Mississippi's training camp roster now stands at 25.

Forwards (12) â Anthony Battaglia, Tyler Bellamy, Darryl Campbell, Bobby Cunningham, Lucas Drake, Louis Dumont, Jeff Hutchins, Andy Johnson, Jay Legault, Travis Lisabeth, Tristan Lush and Justin Messer.
The Sea Wolves open their ninth season in the 28-team ECHL at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, October 22 against the Louisiana IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
