Duluth, Minn. - After being rained out of their Thursday-night game, the Blue Anchors took on the Duluth Huskies in a doubleheader Friday night and were swept by scores of 10-4 and 7-4 at Wade Stadium

Game One Recap

The Blue Anchors were able to get on the board in the first as Jake Bergren singled with one out. He went on to steal second and come around to score on a Roman Collins base hit.

The lead didn't last long. In the Huskies' half of the first, they scored five runs capped off by a grand slam from Vinnie Rodriguez. Duluth tacked on in the second when Michael Tinsley scored on a two-out single from Austin Christensen to give the Huskies a 6-1 advantage.

In the top of the fourth, Aaron Gretz singled to begin the inning but was erased on a Dalton Leuschke fielder's choice. Ben Allen walked to put two runners on and Leuschke scored on an Alex Fink single making the score 6-2.

The game was put out of reach in the bottom of the sixth. The first four Huskie batters reached to score two runs and Sean Terres came on in relief of Aaron Rozek. After getting two quick outs, a two-out single from Keach Ballard brought home one and a bases-loaded walk to Jon Hander brought in two more making the score 10-2.

The Anchors bats weren't done, however, as they continued to hit in the top of the seventh. Kris Goodman singled with one out and Jake Bergren doubled to right. After a strikeout to Collins, Rickey Sanchez drove in both runners with a base hit giving the final score of 10-4.

Robbie Mouton (0-2) took the loss lasting just one inning giving up five runs on four hits and two walks. Rozek pitched three innings in relief giving up four runs on six hits with one strikeout. Terres made his season debut pitching two innings allowing one run on two hits and three walks.

Phil Orr came on to pitch in the fourth and he allowed a leadoff double to Grady Caldwell who was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. Tinsley singled in Caldwell extended their lead to 3-0.

The Anchors closed the gap in the fifth. Cam Duzenack singled to begin the frame and went to second on a Fink single. A pitching change and an out later, Dylan Dresel singled home Duzenack cutting the deficit to 3-1.

Off Orr, Duluth grabbed some insurance runs. Orr walked the first two batters and on a Dominic Brugnoni sacrifice bunt attempt, Orr threw the ball away allowing both runners to score. Brugnoni was scored on a groundout. A two-out walk to Chase Keifer led to another run as he stole second and third and scored the Huskies' final run on a wild pitch giving Duluth the 7-1 lead.
