Duluth Huskies News Release
Duluth, Minn. - The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is thrilled to announce the addition of two more players to compete in the 2018 season. Christian Cosby (RHP) from Placentia, California and Christian Jones (1B, OF) from Federal Way, Washington are the newest members of the Huskie team.
Christian Cosby is a 6'5" junior coming from Chapman University (Orange, CA) that batted .291 in 40 games for the Panthers during the previous season. Christian also recorded 4 homeruns and 23 RBI's at the plate in those 40 games. The right-handed thrower and batter pitched in 9.2 innings with 8 strikeouts and 4 walks. He has also been known to play in the outfield in which his fielding percentage is proficient at .984.
Christian Jones is our second Christian to introduce today, he will be a sophomore this upcoming season and is currently playing for the Washington Huskies (Seattle, WA). As a dual sport athlete in high school he was highly sought after, receiving the Washington Baseball Gatorade Player of the Year in his senior season for Federal Way, WA. In limited appearances during his freshman year, Jones was able to get his first hit and homerun in just his second at-bat with the team. Christian looks to have a much larger impact this NCAA season after getting some experience under his belt. Jones was also drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 31st round of the 2016 draft. Hu
The Huskies open the 2018 season with five road games, but open at Wade Stadium Sunday, June 3rd against the Eau Claire Express. Season tickets, punch cards, and other ticket packages are still available. For more information, contact the Duluth Huskies front office at 218-786-9909 or huskies@duluthhuskies.com.
