Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Island Storm 95-84 in NBL Canada action January 23rd at the Eastlink Centre. This win makes it two in a row for the Hurricanes, the Hurricanes now have a record of 9-3, leading the Atlantic Division.
Storm led the Hurricanes at the end of the first quarter 22-15. In the second quarter the Hurricanes cut the deficit down to six, and trailed 46-40 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Storm 33-16. The Storm outscored the Hurricanes 23-21 in the final quarter but the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 94-85.
Forward, Mike Glover led the Hurricanes with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Guards, Shane Gibson and Justin Johnson each scored 13 points for the Hurricanes. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales ended with 10 points. Forward, Anthony Criswell scored 9 points.
Forward, Brent Jennings led the Storm with 17 points. Guard, Terry Thomas scored 13 points. Guards, Andre Malone and Rashad Whack added 12 points each in the loss. Forward, Brian Addison scored 11 points.
The Hurricanes will return home against the Saint John Mill Rats on January 28th.
