(LONDON, Ontario) - Saturday night at Budweiser Gardens in front of 6,628 fans, the London Lightning won at the buzzer, 87-86 over the Orangeville A's.

The win extends the team's win streak to six games. The Lightning's record is now 9-2.

Nick Okorie had 23 points and the game winning shot at the buzzer. Tyshawn Patterson added 23 points of his own.

The Lightning led after one quarter, but fell behind in the second and third due to stingy defence from A's centre Justin Moss. London also had a tough time from the field, shooting just 34 percent.

In the fourth, the Lightning crawled their way back into the game, taking the lead, though the A's kept pace. With less than two to go, the game was tied 84-84.

A's guard Lewis Jackson hit a jumper with about three seconds left in the game.

Following a timeout, Nick Okorie got an inbound pass and hit a three-pointer to win the game at the buzzer.

"It's tough to win in this league. It's tough to play back-to-backs.

That's our third game in four nights. I feel like they're a little bit drained," said coach Kyle Julius. "So I'm proud of the way they executed at the end."

Stephen Maxwell wrote his way into the Lightning record books in just his 11th game with the team. He tied the team record for most rebounds in a single game with 22 (Gabe Freeman also holds the record).

The Lightning next head to Niagara to take on the River Lions on Friday (Jan. 29). The Bolts will play back to back games at the Bud next weekend, facing the Moncton Miracles Saturday night and the Island storm Sunday afternoon. Tickets are on sale through the Budweiser Gardens Box Office.
