Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Moncton Miracles 96-92 in NBLC action January 22nd, at the Moncton Coliseum. This is the second victory against the Miracles in the last week, with this win the Hurricanes are 8-3.
Miracles led the Hurricanes at the end of the first quarter 25-19. In the second quarter the Hurricanes outcored the Miracles 31-21, and lead 50-45 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Miracles 26-23. The Miracles outscored the Hurricanes 24-20 in the final quarter but the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 96-92, Hurricanes win.
Guard, Shane Gibson led the Hurricanes with 19 points and 8 assists. Forward, Billy White scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Forward, Mike Glover scored 13 points and added 8 rebounds. Forward, Kyle Hunt ended with 12 points. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 8 points.
Guard, Tyrrel Tate all scorers with 20 points for the Miracles. Guard, James Justice scored 17 points. Forward, Brandon Kearney scored 11 points. Forward, Tydran Beaty scored 11 points
The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm on Saturday January 23rd at the Eastlink Centre. The Hurricanes will return home against the Saint John Mill Rats on January 28th.
