Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Niagara River Lions in NBL Canada action February 26th at the Scotiabank Centre. This win makes it 2 in a row for the Hurricanes and they now have a record of 14-5, leading the Atlantic Division.
Hurricanes led the River Lions at the end of the first quarter, 34-29. In the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the River Lions 24-20, and lead 58-49 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Storm 28-23. The Hurricanes outscored the A's 30-21 in the final quarter and the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 116-93.
Forward, Mike Glover led the Hurricanes with 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 19 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 17 points. Forward, Kyle Hunt scored 15 points. Guard, Joseph Bertrand scored 14 points in his first game back from injury.
Forward, Logan Stutz led all scorers with 22 points and grabbed 10. Forward, Billy Rush scored 12 points. Guard, Clinton Springer-Williams scored 11 points. Forward, Da'Quan Cook scored 10 points. Guard, Adam Blazek scored 10 points. Guard, Sammy Zeglinski scored 10 points.
The Hurricanes will play their next 2 on the road, facing the Saint John Mill Rats then the Island Storm.
