Saint John Mill Rats vs. the Moncton Miracles

(Moncton, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats rallied in the final two minutes to beat the Moncton Miracles 116-115 at the Moncton Coliseum.
Saint John trailed most of the night and were down 114-108 with 2:04 remaining. Doug Herring Jr went 6-6 from the foul line in the last two minutes, and Ricky Volcy put back an errant miss that accounted for the Mill Rats final 8 points needed for the win.
Moncton's Tydran Beaty missed a key free throw with 17 seconds left. And the Mill Rats also had to get a critical stop as Moncton had possession the final 9.7 seconds of the game. Dexter Strickland switched to his left hand on the final drive of the game and missed as time expired.
"Another tough game in our division. We trailed all game but our guys stuck to the game plan and played with some heart," said Mill Rats Head Coach Rob Spon. "Gabe Freeman carried us offensively tonight and Doug made some important free throws. We stole the game tonight but we'll definitely take the win."
The Mill Rats trailed 19-9 to start the game, 59-57 at the half, and 72-59 midway through the third period. They ended the game on an 8-1 run.
Freeman scored 34, Herring Jr 23, Volcy 17, Johnny Mayhane 14, Anthony Anderson 11, and Garrius Holloman 10. Dexter Strickland led Moncton with 31.
Saint John improves to 13-6 while the Miracles drop to 8-12.
