Game Highlights
Quarter 1: Highlanders 29, Hurricanes 16
The game started with Cape Breton getting an early lead and then with both teams exchanging buckets. Cape Breton's defense showed, as they forced 8 turnovers in the quarter. A late run from the Highlanders would see them up 13 to end the quarter.
Quarter 2: Highlanders 54, Hurricanes 47
The Highlanders started the second quarter by continuing to add to their lead, extending it to as much as 19 points. Halifax responded well and started making shots. Halifax would slowly gain momentum to find themselves down just 7 points to end the half. Cape Breton's Jamal Reynolds led the way for the Highlanders with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Quarter 3: Highlanders 73, Hurricanes 79
The second half started with Halifax continuing to close in on the Highlanders' lead. The Hurricanes were able to take the lead with 3-minutes remaining in the quarter. The Highlanders struggled to protect the ball and turned the ball over 11 times. Halifax's Malcolm Duvivier was lights out and had 24 at the end of 3.
Quarter 4: Highlanders 90, Hurricanes 103
The final quarter saw the Hurricanes start the quarter with a 12-3 run to add to their lead. Once Halifax stretched their lead to double digits they would trade baskets with the Highlanders and Cape Breton couldn't find a way to muster a comeback.
