
Hurricanes Cap off the Regular Season with An Island Storm Blowout

HALIFAX, N.S. - The Hurricanes won their sixth-straight game to end their regular season on Thursday night at Scotiabank Centre, blowing out the Island Storm 124-97.
The Hurricanes led the game end-to-end, putting on a dominant offensive performance with 51.1 per cent shooting from the field, and hitting 40 per cent of their threes.
Terry Thomas was front and centre for Halifax for much of the game, finishing with a game-high 23 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks in just 27 minutes of play.
Malcolm Duvivier logged big minutes off the bench, hitting five of eight threes on his way to 20 points in 33 minutes.
Five other Hurricanes scored at least 10 points on Thursday. Joel Kindred and Jordan Washington had 15 points each, while back-up centre Chad Posthumus put up 14 points and 10 rebounds. Mike Poole scored 11 points with 11 boards and Tyler Thorntonscored 10 and led the team with nine assists.
The Hurricanes finished their regular season as one of the hottest by winning 13 of their 16 games as they head into the National Basketball League of Canada Playoffs.
With the Cape Breton Highlanders win over the Saint John Riptide on Thursday, they have secured the third seed in the Atlantic Division and will be the Hurricanes opponents in the first round.
Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday, April 4 at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax at 7 p.m. Game 2 will be on Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m.
