
Hurricanes Acquire Lethbridge Product from Royals

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Monday that the team has acquired 1999-born forward D-Jay Jerome from the Victoria Royals in exchange for conditional draft pick compensation in 2021 and 2022.
Jerome, 19, hails from Lethbridge and played his minor hockey with the Lethbridge Midget AAA Hurricanes, the Lethbridge Hurricanes Minor Midget and the Lethbridge Golden Hawks Bantam AAA. He was originally undrafted in the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft before signing with the Red Deer Rebels.
In 167 career WHL regular season games with the Royals, Rebels and Prince Albert Raiders, Jerome has recorded 59 points (31g-28a) along with 126 penalty minutes. The 6'2", 187-pound centerman set a career-high of 42 points in 68 games while finishing with 23 goals to rank second in Royals goal-scoring last season. Jerome added three points (2g-1a) and a plus-5 rating in 10 post-season games last year for Victoria.
Jerome becomes the third Lethbridge product on the Hurricanes roster joining goaltender Carl Tetachuk and prospect Zack Stringer who finished the season with the Hurricanes.
