
Huntsville Stars Begin Homestand

INF Mat Gamel and P Josh Butler will continue their Major League Rehab assignments as Huntsville Stars beginning tonight. Because ML Rehab assignments do not count against the active roster; there are no corresponding moves; the active roster remains maxxed out at 24.
The Huntsville Fair opens tomorrow in the parking lot at Joe Davis Stadium. The carnival has rides, a petting zoo, some concerts and a host of fun. Heck, there's even an elephant for Allison Tofflemire! This weekend will be packed with Stars baseball, a salute to Disabled Veterans on Friday, a carnival, games, music, fireworks, Letters for Lyrics/Zac Brown Band CD giveaway on Saturday sponsored by Landers McLarty Dodge Ram Trucks and even a special 4:00 pm game on Memorial Day. If you don't have plans for this weekend, there's no better place to be in Huntsville than Joe Davis Stadium. Tonight kicks off a 10-game homestand with Oscar Mayer's Wienie Wednesday. All fans get get two hot dogs for only two bucks all night long. Tomorrow is another Bud Light Thirst-Aid Thursday; 20-ounce Bud products for only $2 thru the 7th inning. Friday has early arriving fans getting a special card set giveaway featuring five Huntsville Stars players, courtesy of the DAV. All veterans and their families will receive free admission to Friday night's game courtesy of the DAV, NetwoRx of Huntsville and the Huntsville Stars; just present a military ID card or DD214 at the Box Office for your tickets. On Saturday fans can write a post card for deployed soldiers and receive a Zac Brown Band CD, while supplies last. Immediately following the game we'll have fireworks, sponsored by Landers McLarty Dodge. Sunday all kids and coaches in uniform (baseball, softball, scouting, soccer, gymnastics, etc) receive free admission courtesy of SportsMed and every Sunday is a FOX 54 Super Soaker Sunday so make sure you bring your water pistols and super soakers to the game. If you sit in the wet zones (bleacher seats) you're gonna get wet. Monday we'll have a tribute to those who gave their lives defending our great nation. Gates will open at 3:00 pm for a special 4:00 pm start. It is another Military Monday where all military ID card holders and their guests receive $1 admission courtesy of NetwoRx of Huntsville.
