
Huge Fourth Inning Propels Loggers Past Thunder Bay 11-3

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The La Crosse Loggers blew open what had been a scoreless game with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and cruised to a 11-3 win over Thunder Bay in the first game of a day-night doubleheader before 1,826 fans at the Lumberyard on Monday afternoon.
The Loggers (30-29, 13-10) sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth, collecting five hits. Kyson Donahue (Arizona) led off the scoring with a sacrifice fly, with Liam Bendo (Saint Joseph's), Cody Jefferis (San Diego), Ryan Holgate (Arizona) and JT Schwartz (UCLA) each adding RBI base hits in the frame.
Matt Stinebiser (Duke) added a three-run home run in the eighth inning, his first in a Loggers uniform. Stinebiser finished the game 3-for-5 batting with four RBI. Jefferis and Bendo each went 2-for-4 batting, while Donahue added a double and two RBI.
Tristan Harvin (Birmingham Southern) evened his record to 3-3, collecting the win after striking out six over six innings pitch. Lalo Porras (Lewis Clark State) struck out eight over three innings of relief to earn the save for La Crosse.
The Loggers will once again play host to Thunder Bay (19-38, 5-17) in the second game of the day at 6:35 pm tonight.
