
Howe & Top Prospect Wood Help Canada to Gold at U18 Hlinka Gretzky Cup

Red Deer, Alta. - Regina Pats forward Tanner Howe and top prospect Matthew Wood helped Canada to a gold medal at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup with a 4-1 victory over Sweden on Saturday.
Howe opened the scoring for Canada, recording his second of the tournament. The Prince Albert, Sask. product finished the tournament with four points (2G-2A) in five games for Canada.
Pats top prospect and 2020 second-round pick Matthew Wood recorded five points (2G-3A) in five games for Canada at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Saturday's win marked Canada's 23rd gold medal at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup since the tournament was inaugurated in 1991.
