How to Follow Along with Wynder, Gomez at the U-20 World Cup

Louisville City FC News Release
Teammates during their shared time at Louisville City FC, defenders Josh Wynder and Jonathan Gomez will be back on the same squad during the United States' run at the 2023 FIFA U-20 Men's World Cup in Argentina.
Wynder, 18, recently became the first active LouCity player rostered for a World Cup. Gomez, 19, now plays his club soccer for Real Sociedad in Spain. They are among the six players on coach Mikey Varas' roster to have also received prior senior U.S. team call-ups.
Both will feature for an American team carrying high expectations into the competition, which consists of 24 countries divided into six groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group, as well as the four best third-place teams, advance to the 16-team knockout bracket.
All three of the USA's Group B games will kick off at 2 p.m. ET inside Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario in San Juan with English language coverage on Fox Sports networks. U.S. Soccer also posts in-game updates via its @USYNT Twitter account.
- Saturday, May 20 vs. Ecuador (Fox Sports Plus, Telemundo)
- Tuesday, May 23 vs. Fiji (Fox Sports 2, Telemundo)
- Friday, May 26. Vs. Slovakia (Fox Sports 2, Telemundo)
Should the Americans advance, knockout play would begin May 30, 31 or June 1 pending their group finish. The World Cup runs through the final and third-place playoff games on June 11.
The U.S. is looking to build on its history of success at this tournament as the only nation to reach the quarterfinals of the last three U-20 World Cups and one of three countries to qualify for the last five editions alongside New Zealand and Uruguay.
Wynder is the lone USL Championship player to make the American roster. The Louisville native is the second Kentuckian called up by the U.S. to a World Cup following Racing Louisville FC Academy star Ella Sanchez, who played in last year's U-17 Women's World Cup.
