
Houston Dynamo to host Private Tryout this Weekend

HOUSTON, TX - (Tuesday, January 23, 2007) - The Houston Dynamo will be hosting a private tryout this weekend at Carl Lewis Track Field, at the University of Houston, providing a total of 64 players from all over south Texas with the unique opportunity of showcasing their skills and talent in front of MLS representatives and college coaches.
The event will be held for the first time ever in Houston on Saturday, January 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The POE will continue on Sunday, January 28, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
"This is a unique opportunity for players to be evaluated by coaches who are involved with soccer at very high levels. Hopefully this event will provide an opportunity for them to improve their soccer opportunities as well as their academic careers", said Dynamo Director of Youth Development James Clarkson.
The players participating in this event are mainly high school juniors and seniors from the Houston Area. They were selected out of a group of over 350 participants who originally tried out on September 20 and 21, 2006.
