HOUSTON (Friday, June 6, 2014) - The Houston Dynamo host Sporting Kansas City tonight at 7:30 p.m. CT at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or by visiting the BBVA Compass Stadium box office (2200 Texas St., Houston).

Tonight's game will be broadcast live on CSN Houston Plus (7 p.m. CT pregame show) and can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and 850 AM (Spanish).

Tonight is a rematch of the 2013 Eastern Conference Championship, a 2-1 aggregate series win for Sporting Kansas City. The rivals have met in the playoffs three straight years, with the Dynamo defeating Sporting KC in 2011 and 2012.

After tonight, the Dynamo will begin a three-week break from MLS play to coincide with the group stage of the World Cup in Brazil. However, the Dynamo will enter the U.S. Open Cup next week, with a fourth round game against the Laredo Heat of the USL Premier Development League (PDL) on Wednesday, June 11 at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Dynamo are 5-8-2 (17 points) and tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Houston ended a three-game road swing with a 3-0 defeat at Colorado on Sunday.

Sporting Kansas City (5-5-4; 19 points) is in third place in the East following a 1-0 loss at D.C. United on Saturday.

The Dynamo and Sporting Kansas City have played 10 games over the last two seasons, including four playoff games. Last November, the clubs met in the Eastern Conference Championship and played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Houston. Sporting KC secured a 2-1 win in the second leg to advance to MLS Cup.

Dynamo midfielders Brad Davis (United States) and Boniek Barcia (Honduras) are with their national teams preparing for the World Cup and are unavailable for tonight's game.

Likewise, Sporting KC defender Matt Besler (Unites States) and midfielder Graham Zusi (United States) are also away with the national team and are unavailable tonight.

Sporting KC is led by third-year forward Dom Dwyer, who is second in MLS with ten goals this season, including six goals in a four-game span in May.

While the Dynamo enter the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, they will not play in MLS again until June 29, when they visit the Montreal Impact.
