Houston Dynamo FC Sign Veteran Defender Daniel Steres to Contract Extension

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC signed defender Daniel Steres to a contract extension through the 2024 season plus a club option for 2025, the Club announced today.

"Daniel provides valuable leadership on and off the field and securing his future in Houston was an important first step in our offseason roster plans," Dynamo general manager Pat Onstad said. "As we look to improve the roster for this upcoming season, we need to build around veterans who best embody our values and understand how to win in this league. Daniel is one of those players. We are happy that he and his family are committed to our project and the city of Houston."

The Dynamo acquired Steres in a trade with the LA Galaxy on Dec. 12, 2021. The MLS veteran appeared in 18 games for Houston this season, scoring two goals and tallying an assist.

Steres has started 141 of the 158 league games in which he has featured and led the Galaxy to the postseason in 2016 and 2019. The Burbank, Calif. native is a product of San Diego State University and was selected by Chivas USA in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft.
