Houston Dash News Release
HOUSTON - The Houston Dash today announced a partnership with Nationwide. As an official insurance partner of the Houston Dash, Nationwide will be supported by the team in a variety of community impact initiatives and activations across the organization including Pups at the Pitch Night on August 19, presented by Nationwide. Additionally, in collaboration with the National Women's Soccer League, Nationwide and the Dash will join community partners in volunteering efforts throughout the season.
"We are thrilled to welcome Nationwide to the Houston Dash as an official partner," said Dash President Jessica O'Neill. "Their commitment to supporting women's soccer at both the national and local level is commendable, and we look forward to partnering with them to deliver needed support to our local Houston communities."
"Nationwide looks forward to leveraging this partnership to encourage and recognize volunteerism and support several Houston-area community partners," said Jim McCoy, Nationwide Associate Vice President of Sports Marketing.
Nationwide and the Houston Dash are committed to making a positive impact in the community with the help of players, staff, and fans through Dynamo and Dash Charities - the charitable arm of the Houston Dynamo Football Club. Together, the Houston Dash and Nationwide will host volunteer events throughout the city that will be open to players, fans, and staff. Additionally, Nationwide will highlight Houston Dash fans who create a positive impact in the community through the "Nationwide Gives Back" program. The community impact fan spotlight will recognize specific fans who consistently volunteer and make our community a better place.
Pups at the Pitch Night presented by Nationwide, will take place on August 19 at Shell Energy Stadium. Fans will be invited to bring their canine companion to the Houston Dash match against the Washington Spirit with the north side bar area of the stadium designated as a "Doggy Patio." Fans can purchase tickets here. The first 6,000 fans to arrive at the stadium will receive a specially designed Dash bandana - for wear by pups or fans, courtesy of Nationwide. Houston Pets Alive! (HPA), a local non-profit organization which works to save at-risk animals from euthanasia, will be on-site during the August 19 match to introduce fans to several of their adoptable dogs in hopes of helping them find their forever home.
Additionally, Nationwide and the NWSL have announced details around the 2023 Nationwide Community Impact Program, a season-long initiative promoting community partners and advancing local service projects chosen and led by each NWSL team. Dash forward Diana Ordóñez will serve as Houston's player ambassador and will volunteer with community partner, Kid's Meals Houston. The community partner will be recognized at halftime on August 26 against the Kansas City Current.
