Hounds to Establish Hall of Fame, New Secondary Logo for 20th Anniversary

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has announced plans to establish a team Hall of Fame and incorporate a brand-new secondary logo for the 20th anniversary of its first-ever season.
The inaugural Riverhounds SC Hall of Fame class, which will be voted on by a small committee comprised of club legends, club staff and media, will be inducted on Friday, July 12. This class also will be honored during a special halftime ceremony during the club's home game against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, July 13 at Highmark Stadium.
"As the club gains momentum heading into its 20th anniversary season, we are proud to establish the Riverhounds SC Hall of Fame," said Kevin Johnston, general manager of Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Highmark Stadium. "This will be a place where we honor those who have greatly helped propel our franchise forward to the success it has achieved over the past couple decades. We are thankful to everyone who has contributed time and effort into our organization, and the Riverhounds SC Hall of Fame will be a symbol of that."
The inaugural Riverhounds SC Hall of Fame class will be revealed at a date to be determined prior to the start of the regular season.
In addition to establishing a team Hall of Fame, Riverhounds SC also unveiled a brand-new secondary logo to be used in support and tandem with its primary circle and shield insignia during its 20th anniversary season. This new logo, featuring the copy "Celebrating 20 Years" with the team's primary insignia acting as the "0" in "20," was designed by Brian Gundell (briangundell.com). Gundell, an Oregon-based graphic designer, also developed the team's brand identity for its rebrand prior to the start of the 2018 campaign.
Riverhounds SC began play in the USL A-League during its 1999 season, when the team finished with a 16-12 record en route to a quarterfinals postseason finish. Most recently, the club hosted its first-ever playoff game at Highmark Stadium in front of a venue-record crowd to complete its 2018 season.
