Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC tied Duquesne University, 0-0, on Friday at Highmark Stadium.

Logging the shutout for the Hounds were Kyle Morton, playing the first half, and Ben Lundgaard, playing the second 45 minutes. Pittsburgh has not yet allowed a goal in preseason action (three games).

In the first half, the Hounds' best opportunity to break the nil-nil score came off the foot of Neco Brett. The striker blasted a hard shot at the net, but the Duquesne goalkeeper collected his take in the 18th minute.

After the half, fellow striker Christian Volesky had a great chance to break the 0-0 score in the 66th minute. Directing a diving header toward the frame after Steevan Dos Santos sent a ball across the goalmouth, his try ultimately went wide of the target.

Riverhounds SC will next play the University of Charleston (WV) at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Highmark Stadium. All preseason matches at Highmark Stadium are free to attend for the public.
