The Brahmas turned the tables on the SteelHounds after being dominated in the first two games of the series by scoring the opening period's only two goals. The first came from Cory Stillman who made a great move jumping around a Hound defender and getting into position to bang a shot by David St. Germain for his 29th goal of the season assisted by Jimmy Sokol at the 3:58 mark. The Brahmas added to their lead with a blue collar goal that eventually led to Ben Gustavson jamming home the puck by St. Germain for his 14th goal of the season once again assisted by Sokol. The Hounds outshot the Bramas 17-11 in the period and squandered three power play chances as Larry Sterling stood on his head turning aside all 17 shots he faced.

The goal for Sewell was his 21st of the season, assisted by Jeff Christian (his 50th assist of the season). The Hounds tied the game at the 15:54 mark with a great play by two players, Chris Richards and Joey Sewell. The two went after a puck in the neutral zone along with a Brahma defender. Richards, without a stick, used his body to take out the Brahma player get the puck out ahead of the pile where Sewell picked it up and went in on a breakaway eventually out waiting Sterling and going top shelf for his second goal of the night and 22nd of the year assisted by Chris Richards, his 69th of the season. Each team took 11 shots. For Youngstown, Simon St. Pierre was forced into action after St. Germain took a collision that sent him to the locker room.

Youngstown finally gained control in the third period scoring just over three minutes into the final frame with Jeff Christian scoring his 55th goal of the season jamming home a rebound off a Ben Manny shot. Manny and Sewell got the assists on the goal which proved to be the 10th game winner of the season for Christian. The Hounds added an empty-net goal with Sewell netting his hat trick and 23rd goal of the season.

The final shot on goal favored the SteelHounds 37-35 with Simon St. Pierre earning his sixth victory of the season going perfect in relief of St. Germain stopping all 21 shots he faced. Sterling finished with 33 saves falling to 16-28-3.
