Hounds Announce "Draft Day" festivites for Fans

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club will officially select the first overall pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection a little after 9am on Saturday May 2nd, but a day earlier, he will be introduced to select fans at a press conference and participating fans at an autograph session to be held at the Essar Centre. The team has a lot of activities planned to help them welcome the first pick to the city, and are giving some lucky season ticket holders the opportunity to be part of the festivities.

The official press conference will be held at the Essar Centre Friday May 1st, and following that, from 3:30-5:00pm there will be an autograph session for the fans to meet our pick. The autograph session will be open to all Greyhound fans (limit of one item to autograph per person); however due to time constraints we cannot guarantee that everyone in attendance will have the chance for an autograph. Everyone will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs including special t-shirts and autograph posters of our first overall pick at the Hound Pound.

Season Ticket Holders can enter for their chance to guarantee a spot in line by registering via email (deanna@soogreyhounds.com) or calling 253-5976 ext 30. The first 60 season ticket holders who register will be given a free autograph poster of our first round pick and will be guaranteed the chance to get his autograph. They will also be entered in the draw to win an autographed jersey and the chance to have their picture taken with our first pick (you must be in attendance on the day of the autograph session to be eligible to claim your prize).

Finally, ten lucky fans out of the first 60 registrants will be given the VIP treatment which includes the opportunity to participate in the official press conference, a prize package (official t-shirt and autographed picture) and time for personalized autographs and pictures with our first pick.
