January 8, 2010 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Soo Greyhounds News Release

Soo Greyhounds GM Dave Torrie has announced that the team has completed a deal with the London Knights earlier today acquiring 19-year old forward Dominic DeSando.

In exchange the Knights receive a 4th round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection and a conditional 4th round pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. (The second pick is conditional on DeSando playing his Overage Season).

In 27 games this year, the London, Ontario native has 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points.

"Dominic brings another element of speed and tenacity to our line-up and he resembles a lot of the elements that former Hound Brandon MacLean brought to our team" started GM Dave Torrie.

"In London he has been utilized in penalty kill situations and a defensive forward role. We feel with greater opportunities like he will receive here in Sault Ste. Marie, Dominic can contribute greater offensively than he has in the past. As a 19-year old he brings additional experience to our club as we push for position in the post-season" concluded Torrie.

The 5'10", 189 lbs centreman is a graduate of both the midget and junior B programs in London. He was originally selected by the Knights in the 13th round of the 2006 OHL Priority Selection.
