Houle called up to Phantoms, Beauchemin sent down

TRENTON, NJ (November 17, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Thursday that goaltender Martin Houle has been recalled by the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League while goalie Rejean Beauchemin has been assigned to the Titans.

Beauchemin, 20, makes his first appearance with Trenton this season having gone 2-4-1 with a 2.79 goals against average and a .915 save percentage in 8 games with Philadelphia (AHL). Now in his first year of professional hockey, Beauchemin previously spent three seasons with the Prince Albert Raiders (2002-05) of the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he compiled a 63-60-11 record. The 6'2, 186-pound native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round (191st overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Houle, 20, has gone 4-3-0 thus far in rookie campaign with a 2.10 GAA that ranks sixth in the EHL. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Houle compiled a 65-51-9 record over 138 games during a four-year career with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) (2002-05) with a 2.72 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. Houle, 5'11, 180 lbs, was selected by the Flyers in eighth round (#232 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
