Phoenix, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have signed rookie forwards Peter Trovato and Brad Wanchulak. Trovato and Wanchulak are both expected to make their RoadRunners' debut on Friday when Phoenix travels to the E-Center to battle the Utah Grizzlies.

Trovato, 24, was an assistant captain at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst last season and set school records for career games played and consecutive games played while finishing with 10 assists in 38 games. The North Attleboro, Mass. native was also a finalist for the 2005 College Hockey Humanitarian Award and was recognized by the NBA's Boston Celtics in March as a local hero for his efforts in establishing the Massachusetts Soldiers Legacy Fund, a charitable endowment which aims to provide college scholarship money to the children of soldiers who have died in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. To date, the fund has raised nearly $200,000.

Trovato tallied one goal and eight points in 13 games with the Johnstown Chiefs in 2004-05 upon completion of his collegiate career, and received a one-game promotion to Rochester of the American Hockey League. He is reunited with former teammate and RoadRunners defenseman Dusty Demianiuk.

Wanchulak, 25, tallied seven goals and 21 points in 105 career games at the University of Notre Dame. The Edson, Alberta native enjoyed his best season as a freshman in 2001-02 with five goals and 13 points to finish second among Fighting Irish rookies. Wanchulak attended training camp in October with the San Diego Gulls.

In an additional transaction, the RoadRunners have placed forward Joe Dusbabek on the 30-day injured reserve.

The RoadRunners will travel to Salt Lake City to battle the Utah Grizzlies in a two-game series beginning at 7:05PM on Friday, November 18. Catch all the action live on News Talk Radio 1100AM KFNX and online at www.phxroadrunners.com beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 6:45PM.
