
Hot Rods Classic Coming to Bowling Green Ballpark

Bowling Green, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, finalized the inaugural Hot Rods Classic, which will take place at Bowling Green Ballpark on Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th. The round robin tournament will see host Greenwood High School, Adair County High School, Barren County High School, and DeSales (Louisville) battle it out in Bowling Green.
"We are very excited to have high school baseball on our spring schedule," said Hot Rods GM/COO Eric C. Leach. "Greenwood will be a great host, and we can't wait to watch the high quality baseball that these teams will bring to Bowling Green."
The action starts Friday afternoon, March 23rd, at 5:00pm, when Greenwood takes on Adair County. The nightcap will feature Barren County against DeSales. On Saturday, the 24th, the action starts at 10:00am when DeSales battles Greenwood. At 12:30, DeSales rounds out their tournament with a matchup against Adair County. Then at 3:00pm, Adair County will play Barren County, before Greenwood returns to the field at 5:30pm to take on Barren County, rounding out the action.
"Greenwood Gator Baseball is excited to team up with the Bowling Green Hot Rods for our inaugural Greenwood High School Hot Rods Classic to kick off the first weekend of the 2018 season," Greenwood High School Head Coach Jason Jaggers said. "We hope to continue to build this into an event where we showcase the top high school baseball teams in the state of Kentucky."
Tickets will be $7 per day, or a weekend pass is available for $10. Fans 18 and under can get a $5 pass for the weekend as well. All tickets will be available beginning Friday, March 23rd. Concessions will also be available.
"To have WKU, High School Baseball, and the Hot Rods playing at the ballpark all within two weeks of each other makes this a special time of year," Leach added. "It's been a long winter, but spring is finally here."
