Hot Outside Shooting Carries Lynx to 100-95 Win over Monarchs

The Lynx scored 100 points for the third time this season Friday night at Target Center, defeating Sacramento 100-95. With the win, the Lynx moved a full game ahead of the idle San Antonio Silver Stars for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Four Lynx players scored in double-figures in the first half as the team scored a WNBA franchise record 64 points in the first half. In the half, the Lynx shot 23-of-33 (.697 FG%) from the field and 9-of-12 (.750 FG%) from the three-point line. The Monarchs foght back to within three late in the fourth quarter, but the Lynx would hold on for the win, snapping a six game losing streak 100-95. Minnesota made 16 three-pointers in the game, a WNBA record for most in a regulation game.

With 33 first-quarter points tonight, the Lynx ran their streak of 30-or-more points in the first quarter to three games. In the first quarter Minnesota shot 64.7% (11-of-17) from the field and 5-of-6 (.833 FG%) from the three-point line. In the first quarter Kelly Miller led the Lynx with 12 points, surpassing her previous season high of ten points.
