Rochester Honkers News Release
(Rochester, Minn.)- On Monday, June 30, University of Nebraska freshman and Rochester Honker, Ryan Boldt, was informed he did not make the final 24-man roster for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
Even as a freshman, Boldt seemed to have a significant chance at making the roster after a sensational season at Nebraska, earning 2014 All-Big Ten Freshman and Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors.
Boldt played in seven games earlier this season for the Honkers before leaving for Cary, N.C. for Team USA tryouts. In those seven games, Boldt managed to hit .357 and drive in five runs while snagging four bases, primarily at the top of the lineup. He'll rejoin the Honkers later this week and finish out his summer in Rochester.
