(Rochester, Minn.) - The Rochester Honkers announced today the addition of Oregon Duck pitcher, Isaiah Carranza, to their team this summer. Carranza joins fellow Duck, Kyle Kasser, who will both fly into Mayo Field this year.

Carranza is a 6-foot-5, 180-pound right-handed freshman from La Verne, California. He has made 4 appearances, one start, on the season, pitching 8.1 innings allowing 4 earned runs and striking out 5. He was the first man out of the bullpen on the Ducks opening weekend at San Diego State, making two appearances, one on Friday and one on Sunday. He got his first start four days later in the Ducks home opener against Illinois State. Carranza got the no decision, after going 6.0 innings in the Ducks 8-5 victory.

Carranza graduated from Damien High School in 2015, where he posted a 2.42 ERA over his three varsity seasons. He was selected in the 35th round by the Texas Rangers in the 2015 MLB Draft.

The 11th ranked Oregon Ducks open a three-game series at 24th ranked Mississippi State today beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express. The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
