Coastal Bend Aviators News Release
ROBSTOWN, Texas -Coastal Bend Aviators began an eight game home stand with a 3-1 victory over the El Paso Diablos. The Diablos will be in town through Saturday, before San Angelo plays games six through eight starting on Sunday.
The Aviators erased an excellent pitching performance from Elliott Shaw. Shaw pitched six innings allowing only one run which was unearned. In the sixth inning the Aviators committed an error that kept the inning alive eventually leading to the unearned run.
Brandon Pello entered the game to relieve Shaw in the seventh, and proceeded to pitch the eighth inning as well. By pitching two perfect innings and striking out a pair, the hard throwing right hander was the Player of the Game. The performance improved his record to 4-0 on the season.
Trevor Marcotte picked up his third straight loss as a Diablo. The newly acquired Marcotte had another rough outing scattering six hits. Marcotte was only able to record one out in the eighth before making way to Derrick DePriest. An error by the shortstop Josh Fulton allowed a pair of runs to score handing the Aviators the 3-1 victory.
