
Home Opener Set for 2012-13 Season

Wichita, KS (July 25th) - The Wichita Thunder and the Central Hockey League confirmed on Wednesday that the team's home opener for the 2012-13 season will take place on Friday, October 19th starting at 7:05 p.m.
The Thunder will begin their 21st season in the CHL against an opponent yet to be determined. The team will play a 33-game home schedule as a part of a 66-game regular season at INTRUST Bank Arena.
"We are all getting very excited, including our fans, to drop the puck on another great season in October", said Thunder General Manager Joel Lomurno. "Last season was a lot of fun for everyone, and we look forward to building off that success."
The team is coming off a terrific year on and off the ice. Guided by Head Coach Kevin McClelland, the Thunder reached the CHL Finals for the first time in 14 seasons, tied a franchise record with 44 wins and won the Governor's Cup for the most points in the league during the regular season.
Wichita Thunder season tickets for 2012-13 are now on sale. A $50 dollar non-refundable deposit is required for all season tickets.
