Hollis Named PIFL Vidswap.Com Special Teams Player of the Year

Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release
NASHVILLE, TN (July 18, 2014) - Voted upon by opposing coaches as well as league officials, the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) is proud to announce Lehigh Valley Steelhawks DB/KR Dwayne Hollis as the 2014 Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Year.
Arguably the most versatile weapon in the PIFL, Dwayne Hollis at times could take over games without even touching the ball. One opposing Coach described him as "the ultimate weapon, just the threat of him returning field goals made us think long and hard before I tried one from over 40 yards."
Coming into the season, in 83 career PIFL games only two players had ever returned a missed field goal back for a touchdown as Hollis completed that feat three separate times during the regular season all of which we're returned from 50 yards or more. Add to that a blocked extra point that was returned for two points back in April 11th game against in-state rival Harrisburg and you could call it four returns. In addition to his three missed field goal returns for touchdowns, Hollis also returned a kickoff 58 yards for a score along with taking back two of his nine regular season interceptions back for scores.
As well as being the lone member of the National Conference Champion Steelhawks to earn All-PIFL honors, he was one of two players in all of the PIFL to pick up multiple honors and the first in league history to twice be named to the All-PIFL 1st Team in the same season.
Despite not playing one offensive snap, Hollis scored the third most touchdowns (by a non-quarterback) for Lehigh and was the only defensive player in the entirety of the PIFL to lead his club in all-purpose yards (639). On the defensive side of the ball he finished second only to the Lions Roshawn Marshall for the league-lead in interceptions with nine.
Hollis follows fellow Special Teams Player of the Year honorees in Richmond Raiders K T.C. Stevens (2012) and Knoxville Nighthawks K Armando Cuko (2013).
