November 14, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - Midwest Division games have been tough on the Rockford IceHogs so far in 2012-13. Luckily, the team has plenty of time to turn around their 1-5-0-1 record against Division rivals, starting tonight in an Illinois Lottery Cup matchup against the Peoria Rivermen at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m.
A season ago, the IceHogs posted a 23-16-1-4 record within their division, including 5-6-1-0 against the Rivermen.
It's a WXRX Dollar Day at the BMO Harris Bank Center tonight as fans can take advantage of one dollar beers, hot dogs, sodas or companion tickets.
For tickets to tonight's game, or any IceHogs game, call (815) 968-5222, visit IceHogs.com or stop at any Ticketmaster outlet or the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office.
Tonight's game can be viewed on WIFR's 23.2 "Weather Now", Comcast Cable channel 436, Mediacom 101 or online through AHLlive.com. The web stream can be heard through IceHogs.com.
Scoring goals lately hasn't been a problem for the IceHogs but stopping them has. Over the last five contests, the IceHogs have scored 17 goals but allowed 19 shots to hit the back of the net or 3.8 goals per game, including nine last weekend in losses against Grand Rapids and Milwaukee. Rockford has also allowed a first period goal in seven straight games.
The IceHogs fell to Peoria 2-1 in their first meeting this season on Oct. 19 at Carver Arena. Center Peter LeBlanc scored Rockford's lone goal. Tonight marks the second of 12 bouts between the two clubs.
Next Home Game: Friday, Nov. 16 vs. Houston Aeros: A 7:05 p.m. puck drop, the Hogs and Aeros square off for the first time during the 2012-13 season. The contest is Los IceHogs night at the BMO"ËHarris Bank Center as the IceHogs don special uniforms that will be raffled off after the game and throughout the season. The first 2,500 fans (21 and older) receive maracas courtesy of Corona.
