Memphis Redbirds News Release
MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis begins a four-game homestand tomorrow against the Nashville Sounds with a future Hall of Famer on the bump for the visitors.
All-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman is scheduled to make a rehab start for the Sounds tomorrow and is expected to make a relief appearance on Thursday for the club. Hoffman has 554 career saves in his 16-year career, mostly with the San Diego Padres. He is the only pitcher in major league baseball history with 500 saves and broke former Cardinals closer Lee Smith's saves record in 2006.
