High Point - Thomasville, NC - Brian Rountree has rejoined the High Point-Thomasville HiToms franchise as Vice President of Player Development & Marketing/Sales following 19 years at Louisiana Tech University.

Serving as the HiToms head coach in the summer of 2001, Rountree returns to Finch Field to coordinate CPL player recruitment, assist in franchise marketing/sales and oversee the HiToms revamped instructional camps.

"Our organization is thrilled that Brian has returned," HiToms President Greg Suire said. "His vast Division 1 coaching and instructional camp experience will pay tremendous dividends in our organization's expansion efforts."

Bringing over 23 seasons of Division I coaching experience to Finch Field, Rountree served as Louisiana Tech's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator from 1995-2014 and also coached for four seasons at the University of South Carolina under former Gamecock head coach June Raines.

A 1990 graduate of USC, Rountree pitched two years for the Gamecocks and led USC in starts and strikeouts both seasons. Drafted in 1989 by the Detroit Tigers, Rountree spent two years in the Tigers organization making stops in Bristol (Tenn.) and the South Atlantic League's Fayetteville (N.C) Generals.
