
Hitmen Force Game 7 with OT Win

Calgary, AB - Brooks Macek scored the overtime goal, his second of the night, to lift the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings Sunday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The victory now forces Game 7 of the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Championship series on Tuesday, April 30 at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
Macek's two-goal effort extended his point streak to four consecutive games, while Spencer Humphries and Brady Brassart also scored in the win. Brassart, who netted his goal seven seconds into the final frame, set a franchise playoff record for fastest goal to start any period as well as notched a WHL record for fastest third period goal.
Stephane Legault (1g, 1a), Ashton Sautner (1g) and Curtis Lazar (1g) provided scoring for the Oil Kings in the loss.
Calgary goaltender Chris Driedger made 36 saves to record his 11th win of the post-season.
The Hitmen will now travel to Edmonton for Game 7 on Tuesday, April 30. Puck drop is 7 p.m. at Rexall Place (SHAW TV, SHAW Direct 'Channel 299'). Radio broadcast begins at 6 p.m. on Sportsnet 960 The FAN (960 AM) with a one hour pre-game show.
