After the teams traded two minors a piece, each going 0-2 in the first period on the power play, it was the Hitmen who opened the scoring. Dakota Krebs scored his second of the year with just over a minute to go in the first to give Calgary a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The ICE started the second on a power play but nothing came of it. Just over a minute later, Calgary extended their lead to 2-0. The ICE would soon find themselves back on the power play and this time made no mistake. Peyton Krebs found Ben Zloty back door to get the ICE on the board. The ICE would even this one up just before the end of the middle frame. Michal Teply scored his 19th of the season with the assist going to Peyton Krebs.

Things were all square for most of the third period. With just under a minute remaining in the game, Mark Kastelic put in Riley Stotts pass to make it 3-2 for the Hitmen and they would hold onto it.

Liam Hughes made 16 saves in the loss.
