Hillcats to Host First Responders Night on August 17

Lynchburg, Va. - The Lynchburg Hillcats are excited to announce that the club will host First Responders Night on Saturday, August 17 when they play the Carolina Mudcats, A-Adv. affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Hillcats are providing complimentary reserved tickets to all First Responders, and $4 reserved tickets to their friends and family members. Prior to the game, the Hillcats would like to invite First Responders to take part in a First Responders Home Run Derby! Gates will open early at 4:15 p.m. with the home run derby beginning at 4:30 p.m. for fans to enjoy. In addition, the Hillcats are seeking submissions from First Responders interested in helping celebrate the evening by singing the National Anthem in uniform prior to the game. If you or a friend are a First Responder and interested in participating that evening, please contact Hillcats Director of Entertainment Jeff Raymond at jraymond@lynchburg-hillcats.com. The home run derby Grand Prize is a Skybox for the night of September 2.

Additionally, First Responders Night will feature demonstrations from local law enforcement in the parking lot prior to the game. Fans will also be able to bid on a mystery auction that will take place at City Stadium. Bags contain autographed baseballs and memorabilia, with one being an autographed baseball signed by Hall of Famer Joe Torre. Proceeds will benefit organizations that support fallen and wounded First Responders.

The evening will conclude with a Sparkling Saturday post-game fireworks show, presented by Hill City Pharmacy.
