THE HILLCATS: Last night Lynchburg lost to Kinston 8-1 in game three of a four game series...The defeat snapped a three-game winning streak for the Hillcats...Today is the final game of this four-game series and the fourth game of the Cats current seven-game road trip...
VS. KINSTON: Last season the Indians won the season series against the Hillcats 12-7 and were 6-3 against Lynchburg at Grainger Stadium...After taking three out of four at Kinston in the first series of the season against the K-Tribe, the Cats lost their last five games at the home of the Indians...The last scheduled game between the two last year was canceled due to soggy field conditions and never made-up...
NEVER IN DOUBT: The Hillcats went down 1-0 after two innings and never led in their 8-1 loss last night...Of the Hillcats six losses, four have been by five runs or more...Lynchburg is 1-4 when the game is decided by five runs or more...On the flip side, the Cats are 8-2 when the contest is decided by three runs or less and they are 5-1 in one-run games...

EARLY AND OFTEN: Of the 32 runs scored in this series, 27 have been scored in the first five innings of action...
BIG BANG: OF Maiko Loyola hit his first home run of the season in the eighth inning last night...Entering the at-bat he was 2-for-41 after starting the season 4-for-7...Loyola now has a pair of RBI in this series after failing to drive in a run in his first 12 games of the year...
CLUBBING CATCHER: C Kris Watts is off to an incredible start this season...In 13 games he is hitting .444 (20-for-45) with five doubles, a triple, two home runs, nine RBI, 12 runs scored and nine walks...He is first in the league in batting, on-base percentage (.554) and slugging percentage (.733)...Amongst all of minor league baseball he is tied for second in average, first in on-base percentage, and tenth in slugging percentage...He is also riding an eight-game hitting streak and he has hit in 15 of the 16 games he has played in...
AUTOMATIC: This season RHP R.J. Rodriguez is 6-for-6 in save opportunities, including picking up the save in Friday night's 4-1 victory...In his last six outings Rodriguez has five saves and a win and has not allowed a run...
THREE-BAGGIN': On Thursday night UTIL Miles Durham hit his third triple of the season to drive-in three runs in the seven-run fourth inning...It was the third triple of the season for Durham who only had five triples in his three-year career and had only one all of last season...He is currently leading the Carolina League in the category...
TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP Eric Berger was selected in the eighth round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft by the Indians out of the University of Arizona...His junior season as a Wildcat the lefty went 8-4 with a 4.34 ERA in 18 games (13 starts)...Later that year he made his professional debut with Mahoning Valley in Short Season Low-A and went 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA in eighth starts...He finished the season with Low-A Lake County where he pitched two games (one start) and had a 2.08 ERA...This season he advanced to High-A Kinston and in three starts has gone 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA...Today will be his first start against Lynchburg...
