THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg took the rubbermatch against Winston-Salem 10-2 last night at City Stadium to earn just their third series victory of the season...It also marked the third time this year the Hillcats have scored double-digits...The Cats are now 4-5 on this current stretch of 13 games in a row at home, the longest homestand in Hillcats history after playing 17 of their first 23 on the road...

VS. FREDERICK: Last year the Hillcats dominated the series with the Keys, winning 15 out of 20 games in 2007, including seven out of ten at City Stadium...Frederick took two out-of-three from Lynchburg in the opening series of the 2008 at Harry Grove Stadium...The Cats have the all-time advantage 138-120, and are 72-59 at City Stadium against the Keys...Seven of the next 11 games for the Green and Gold are against the defending Mills Cup Champions...

SOUTHERN EXPOSURE: Last night was the Hillcats 20th consecutive game against a Southern Division team in the Carolina League and their 23rd game out of 32 that they have played a team from the South...

FINE NIGHT FOR FRIDAY: Last night SS Brian Friday went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three runs scored...The 2007 third round draft pick was 3/4 of the way to a cycle after three at-bats in the first four innings...It was the first four-hit game of his career...The shortstop is now batting .382 (13-for-34) on this homestand with 7 doubles, a triple and 10 runs scored in nine games...He is now third in the league with 23 runs scored...

HIT BY THE BIG INNING: This homestand the Hillcats have allowed four or more runs in an inning five times in nine games...Four of those frames have turned a Lynchburg lead into a deficit and the Cats have lost four of those five contests...

TROUBLE WITH SOUTHPAWS: This season Lynchburg is 13-12 when a righthander starts and just 1-6 when a lefthander starts against them...

INCREDIBLE START: 3B Jim Negrych entered the day first in the league in hits (47) by 12, batting average (.398), and RBI (24), second in on-base percentage (.451) and in runs scored (22)...The former sixth round pick from 2006 has recorded 17 multi-hit games in his first 28 starts this season, reached safely in 27 of his first 28 games played and he is hitting an astonishing .525 (20-for-38) with men in scoring position...

FLYING OUT OF THE YARD: On Saturday night a combined five home runs were hit between the Hillcats and Indians, a season-high for a Cats game this season...The three home runs Lynchburg hit were the most in a game this season and the Cats have now knocked twelve home runs in their last 16 games after only hitting three home runs in their first 16 contests...

BACK WITH THE BOOM: OF Jamie Romak made his 2008 debut last Friday and went 2-for-5 with a double, on Saturday night he clubbed his first home run of the season and last night he knocked number two out of City Stadium...Last season Romak led all Hillcats with 15 home runs in 85 games played...The 2003 fourth round draft pick of the the Atlanta Braves was acquired by the Pirates in a trade in 2007...He was assigned to Lynchburg from extended spring training last Friday...

HITTING STRIDE: INF/OF Eddie Prasch extended his season-high hitting streak to thirteen games on Monday night with his 1-for-4 performance...The 2004 third round draft pick of the Pirates has hit .327 (16-for-49) over that stretch...He now has the longest hitting streak by a Hillcat this season...
