Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Hillcats will host their 2013 Fan Fest at City Stadium on Saturday, March 30 from 11am-2pm. Admission is free. There will be giveaways throughout the afternoon, free food and drink, and free activities for fans to enjoy at the ballpark. Guests will be invited to take batting practice on the field, use the Hillcats' inflatables, take tours of the ballpark, and more.
This annual event is open to the public and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a voucher for a free hot dog and drink!
At 11:15am the Hillcats Home Run Derby will begin. Local media personalities from television, print, and radio will compete against one another for the 2013 derby crown.
Following the home run derby, fans under the age of 14 are encouraged to come on to the field and into the cage to take batting practice like the pros. Kids will get the rare opportunity to dig in at the same plate as their favorite Hillcats.
Upon entry into the stadium, fans should register on the concourse to be eligible for free prizes which will be given out every 30 minutes. All those who register will have the chance to win caps, t-shirts, or tickets. All giveaways throughout the day will be leading up to the grand prize of a free Skybox Night for a Hillcats game during the 2013 season.
Guided tours of the ballpark will allow fans to check out the team clubhouse, the skybox suites, the dugouts, and more. The Hillcats Team Store, The Catty Shack, will be open for business with discounted prices for this special event, and fans can purchase season and book tickets.
Single-game, book, and season tickets are all currently on sale. The home opener is set for Tuesday, April 9 against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at 6:05pm. A Hillcats pennant presented by Express Lane and WROV will be given away to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. Get your tickets by coming to the Hillcats ticket office at City Stadium Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
