
Hill leads Cubs to 9-2 win

Koyie Hill led the Iowa Cubs past the Oklahoma RedHawks, 9-2, Sunday afternoon at Principal Park.
Hill hit his second homer of the year in the third inning, a two-run shot to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead. Hill drove in two more runs for Iowa in the fourth inning with a single to right field, to put Iowa ahead 4-0.
Oklahoma scored a run in the fifth inning when Jason Ellison hit an RBI single to cut the Cubs lead, 4-1.
Luis Figueora doubled and Hill singled for Iowa to lead off the seventh inning. They were driven in on Andres Blanco's sacrifice fly and Eric Patterson's triple while the Cubs upped their total 6-1.
The RedHawks collected their second and final run on a Nelson Cruz solo home run in the eighth inning to cut the lead, 6-2.
Iowa added three more runs in the eighth for the 9-2 finale.
Eric Patterson, Luis Figueroa and Hill each collected three hits in the win. Randy Wells (4-1) earned the win for the Cubs striking out six in six innings pitched. Oklahoma's Dustin Nippert (2-1) was tagged with the loss.
