TOP SCORER LEADS BRUINS INTO PIVOTAL WEEKEND

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins announced today that center/right wing Andy Hilbert has been named to the AHL All-Rookie Team. The 21-year-old native of Howell, Michigan leads the Bruins and ranks fourth among all AHL rookies with 24-27-51 totals in 66 games. He has also played in six NHL games this season with the Boston Bruins, scoring his first NHL goal in his first game, on December 20th against the Montreal Canadiens. Hilbert will receive a custom-designed crystal award in recognition of his selection.

Hilbert, selected by the Boston Bruins with their third pick (second round), 37th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, played two season of collegiate hockey at the University of Michigan (CCHA) from 1999-2001. He was named a Hobey Baker Award (top U.S. collegiate player) finalist in 2000-01 after leading the Wolverines with 26-38-64 totals in just 42 games.

Hilbert and defenseman Jonathan Girard represented the P-Bruins in February's AHL All-Star Classic. He tallied two goals and an assist for the PlanetUSA team.

Hilbert and the Bruins host the Springfield Falcons on Friday, March 29th at 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550, online at www.providencebruins.com and on television on the New England Sports Network (NESN). The Bruins close out the weekend on Saturday night, when they visit the Worcester IceCats at 7:35 p.m.

In being named to the All-Rookie Team, Hilbert becomes the second player in P-Bruins history to be so honored. Former Bruin Andre Savage was selected in 1998-99.

Tickets for Friday, and all regular season home games are available online at www.providencebruins.com, as well as all TicketMaster outlets (401-331-2211 or 508/617-931-2000) and the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence box office.
