Stamps Outriders and Ralph the Dog

The Stampeders are pleased to again lend their support to this event, where individuals and families whose lives have been touched by Hospice Calgary hike together to remember their loved ones.

"This will be my second year participating in the hike and I'm really looking forward to it," said Cote. "My family hiked last year and we will be out in full force again this year. I hope that we can get more Calgarians out on May 3 and make this event a huge success."

As the team's representative with Hospice Calgary, Cote visited the Outreach and Education Centre prior to last year's hike and was overwhelmed with the work that they do. His family recently struggled with the loss of a close family friend and has taken to Hospice Calgary's work, volunteering for the organization.

"Hospice Calgary is truly an amazing organization," said Cote. "They help people that really need it and give all that they can for people that are facing trying times. Having gone through a loss last year, it really becomes obvious why families use this facility and how much help you really can need during those tough times."

Hospice Calgary has two centres of care: the Rosedale Hospice, for cancer patients reaching the end of life, and the Outreach and Education Centre to assist individuals and families who face loss, whether expected or sudden.
