Game Highlights
Quarter 1: Highlanders 21, Express 25
The Highlanders started their 4-game road trip slow, by getting their first basket four and a half minutes in. Fortunately for them in that time span, the Cape Breton defense was able to hold the Express to just 5 points. The rest of the quarter both teams started to become more consistent on the offensive end, trading baskets, and ending the first quarter with a tight score.
Quarter 2: Highlanders 46, Express 45
Cape Breton started the second quarter playing solid defense. They held Windsor scoreless through the first 4 minutes, which allowed the Highlanders to get take the lead in the game. The Express managed to keep the game close, and capitalized on turnovers, which would allow them to regain the lead with just over 2 minutes to go. The first half ended with Cape Breton ahead by one point.
Quarter 3: Highlanders 72, Express 79
The third quarter started similar to the way the second ended with each team trading buckets. Both teams were playing hard, and it was clear both teams wanted this win. The Highlanders were getting scoring from a variety of players. Cape Breton and Windsor would exchange leads, but the Express would rally up a 7-point lead to end the quarter.
Quarter 4: Highlanders 104, Express 108
The Highlanders came out strong on a 12-2 run. Windsor responded with a 10-0 run to take back the lead. The Express maintained a slight lead throughout the quarter. Highlanders players Jamal Reynolds and Jabari Craig fouled out which didn't help the team down the stretch. 3 pointers late in the game kept the game close for Cape Breton, but Windsor was able to sneak out the win at home with consistent free-throw shooting.
