Herrera Named USLC Top Goalkeeper in Wk 27

SEASIDE, Calif. - As a result of Monterey Bay's shutout win away from home against Eastern Conference side Memphis 910 FC, goalkeeper Carlos Herrera has earned USL Championship Team of the Week honors for Week 27 of the 2023 regular season. Herrera's performance between the sticks at AutoZone Park in Tennessee over the weekend has earned the San Leandro, California native the first top-11 honor of his young career.

Herrera, 26 today, anchored the Monterey Bay defense with seven saves enroute to an impressive road clean sheet, the Union's second consecutive road win and third victory in a row overall. With the season winding down in the Union's sophomore campaign, the importance of each match is rising by the day as the fight for a playoff spot tightens - and Herrera is being recognized for responding with the best stretch of his professional career to date.
