Chesapeake Baysox News Release

BOWIE, MD - The Bowie Baysox are bringing back Louie's Holiday Hope Project in 2008. After reaching out to a handful of area families last year, the Baysox are once again looking for ways to give back during the holiday season.

With local families hit hard by the recent economic downturn, and winter weather lurking right around the corner, Louie knows there will be a lot of ways to spread cheer this holiday season. Area residents can log on to www.baysox.com for full details on Louie's Holiday Hope Project and submit ways the Baysox can help.

The Baysox want to help!

The Baysox have partnered with the Bowie Police Department and the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department to help spread some holiday cheer this season. If local residents know someone who needs a hand this holiday, they should let Louie know. They can e-mail Louie at louie@baysox.com, with the subject of "Louie's Holiday Hope Project" and explain the situation. Entries must be received by Friday, Dec. 5.

Louie and the Baysox will not be able to help everyone with a submission, but the team hopes to brighten the holidays of a few community members this season. A Baysox staff member may contact a submitter for clarification, but submissions will remain confidential.

Your Organization Can Help, Too!

The Baysox encourage other local groups and organizations to help out this holiday season. Local organizations that would like to make a contribution to Louie's Holiday Hope Project can e-mail Louie at louie@baysox.com or call the front office at (301) 805-6000.
