Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Hens' recent road woes continued as they suffered a 17-1 defeat to the Bisons in Buffalo on Tuesday night.

Buffalo scored most of their runs early, tagging Ramon Garcia for seven runs on five hits through two innings. Luke Putkonen and Zach Miner came on in relief and combined to surrender three runs (two earned) over five innings of work.

Jerad Head delivered the Hens' only run of the night with an RBI single in the fifth inning. The offense combined for just six hits to Buffalo's 18.

With the game already out of hand, Bryan Pounds took the hill for the Hens and surrendered six runs on six straight hits, including three homers. Pounds failed to record an out and was replaced by Matt Young. Young closed out the game after recording three outs but allowing a homer.

The Mud Hens will look to get back on track in Buffalo tomorrow in game three of the series. Adam Wilk is scheduled to take the hill with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes

Ramon Garcia walked six batters, one short of Casey Crosby's season high of seven.

The last Hens' position player to pitch was Scott Thorman on May 26, 2011 against Durham.

The Hens are 3-5 on their current road trip.
